  • Research and select one health or nursing informatics policy (within the past 5 years) or regulation for further study.

The CARES Act provides emergency aid and healthcare response for businesses, families, and individuals affected by the pandemic (Roll & Grinstein-Weiss, 2020). The Act was signed into law on March 27, 2020, to sustain the American economy in the face of the pandemic. It is a $2 trillion stimulus bill dedicated to supporting industries, businesses, families, and independent & gig workers (Moss et al., 2020). Most importantly, the Act focuses on several health-related provisions, including insurance coverage of coronavirus testing, nutrition program, and paid sick leave.

System implementation is how a new system is made available to a prepared set of users. The CARES expanded the amount of data that could be collected from the public and increased the amount of informational exchange between government agencies (Cantor, Qureshi, & Briscombe, 2021).
