Knowing how conceptual ideas and theoretical knowledge can be applied in real life situations is important for any healthcare provider. This skill, of transforming knowledge into practice, would allow him to be able to provide the best quality of care for his patients. However, it is also a well-known fact that proper and effective application is rooted into a deep comprehension of the subject matter. Thus, this reflection journal is geared towards analyzing the different theoretical concepts that were studied during the course. The author believes that by dedicating the right amount of effort and research towards improving one’s knowledge in the field of healthcare, every stakeholder will benefit as a result of these process improvements.
Evidence-Based Practice and Patient-Centered Approach
This reflection journal synthesizes some of the important core concepts relating to the core competency of providing a patient-centered approach through the use of Evidence-based practice.
On the one hand, Evidence-based Practice (EBP) focuses on how nurse practitioners are managers could use the best available pieces of evidence in their own workplace. Even though the use of EBP has been a widely accepted (and perhaps mandatory) practice in the field, it seems that its importance would even become more apparent in the coming months and years after the pandemic.
