Introduction
Children show varied rates of development depending on the gender and the kind of environment they are subjected to. There are several factors that determine the rate of development in children. The factors include the heredity or the genetic make-up of a particular child, and nature or the environment that the child interacts with during the development period. Children's developmental processes are best explained by various psychologists who at a time, tried to analyze the behaviors and characteristics of children, especially during the pre-schooling period. Considering the factor of heredity, children's rate of development will be determined by the kind of the genes that they inherit from their parents. The genes will determine whether the child is a fast learner or a slow learner. Besides, the kind of environment that a child is subjected to also affects the rate at which the child will maturing during the pre-schooling period. For example, a child who interacts with electronic gadgets at his or her early stages of development is likely to develop an interest in the field and end up becoming an engineer. The same concept is applied in the case of Draco who is transiting from pre-school age to schooling age, and how he is interested in crafts and designs.
Observation: Anecdotal and Running Record
Considering the three videos about Draco, it is apparent that the boy is greatly influenced by the kind of environment he is interacting with. From the pre-schooling age, Draco has spent a lot of time watching movies about planes and other types of aircraft. As a result, he spends a lot of time playing with aero plane designs that he is making on his own. Satisfactorily, the crafting skills can be acquired during schooling periods at the time of performing creating arts as a subject. The discipline equips the learners with knowledge of creating various designs that help in improving the level of creativity in children. In the video “Draco and Friends Playing with Lego”, Draco is playing with his fellow children, using an aircraft design. The model of the plane is a making that Draco has made by himself, showing his great ability in crafting. Seemingly, the play is facilitated with the fact that the children have a great exposure to planes, hence; validating the argument that environment is one of the factors that determine the level of development and creativity in children. The environment plays a key role in ensuring moral, motor, social, language, and physical skill in children. The same experience is witnessed in the video "Draco and Jessie playing with train". The encounter depicts the level of psychomotor development in the children during the developmental period.
