The various projects undertaken under clinical nutrition have offered insights about nutrition and health. Most importantly, I have gained knowledge regarding how cultural values influence food choices and how different factors determine food preference.
Moreover, I have learned some of the characteristics of healthful diets such as balanced diet foods. Besides, since body weight is critical in nutrition, I have learned on how to measure body weight using BMI.
Further, I have gained knowledge on nutrients needed by individuals with various conditions. For instance, diabetic individuals would require foods low in sugars and obese people would require food lower in cholesterol. Also, I have understood appropriate measures that should be taken to protect individuals with food intolerance.

Journal 1: GI & Accessory Organ Problems
There are various gastrointestinal problems covered that individuals may exhibit. These include the diarrhea, vomiting and cramps.
Ideally someone who has diarrhea may avoid foods that have allergies such as wheat. Additionally, someone having severe vomiting may require food that can boost the drastic drops in the level of blood glucose. While a person with muscle cramps should take food rich in carbohydrates. The nutrition plan of individuals with these conditions should strongly observe the recommendations offered by the specialists.
