Report on "Other people."
1 According to the reading, gender bias exists through the disparaging attitudes that still persist against women. Do you think that gender bias affects socialization in society today?
Although women play an essential role by nurturing the first form of association and relationship through their kids since infancy, their presence and significance are still devalued in the community. The debate on equality and value for all human beings irrespective of gender leaves the activists in an excellent task of revealing the significance of women in society. Do the people demoralizing the importance of women know their origin? Most of them will argue that gender entails weak beings that cannot yield any benefit. For instance, an infant girl could be termed as a ‘waste product’ by some people who anticipated the birth of a boy (Sartre et al., 2006). The parents could then raise the girls in a similar perception, not knowing the importance of the latter to the future generations.
Devaluing women is morally wrong since gender creates the most significant and most influential relationships in an association. Looking into the slow and continuous growth of an infant reveals their significance. "Totally Dependent on his mother (let's say), the child wants her approval and continued love. Any threat to this love, any sign of withdrawal, is frightening, and this vulnerability paves the way for years of successful socialization (Sartre et al., 2006).” People learn the skills of socialization from their mothers. This stance is evident from the difference between children raised by mothers and those growing under the care of other people. The variation exists because one group of children has experienced the mothers' love, and they are most likely to pass similar morals in their associations (Sartre et al., 2006). Hence, women play a critical role in the creation of the relationships existing in society.
2 According to the reading, teachers, parents, our friends, and societal norms are always trying to dictate our behavior and influence who we are or who we are trying to become. So, do you believe that the impact of people, customs, and institutions define the personality of a person?
The institutional definition of a person originates from the values, rules, and ways of implementation by the institution in question. For instance, teachers use various examples and various stances in regulations to ensure that students develop ethical values. The professional relationship between teachers and students shapes the character of the latter. Although different teachers may have different ways of instating specific values in children, the results are nearly similar, and the attentive individuals gain the anticipated knowledge leading to what they become in the future. For example, teachers may raise discussions like, "Suppose that you are at a family dinner and one of the people at the ta...
