I must say that being cited itself is a big thing for me, and let alone, for smoking weed while driving. This experience of being cited has taught me a lot in life for my future conduct. For example, this was the first time ever that I have been cited, making this a big issue and an issue of embarrassment for me. I would like to say at the very beginning that I am very apologetic for my conduct, and the event has taught me a lot for my future life.
I would also like to say that thanks to the just and fair legal system prevalent here, I had access to an attorney who settled the case for me. However, the thought of going to court, to defend such an action or pleading guilty for it, was itself an issue of concern for me. I have never been through such a situation before in my life and I had no idea initially on how to handle such a situation.
Moreover, since my family members also got to know about this issue of being cited and going to court, I had a tough time facing them and explaining to them my viewpoint on the issue. Quite frankly, I believe, there can be no viewpoint as such if you are cited for smoking weed while driving.
