MAIN CHARACTER
In scene 46, the main character and also the character with the strongest desire is Ki-Tek. In this scene, Ki-Tek is driving Yon-Kyo back home from shopping. While at the mall, he had mentioned to Yon-Kyo that he thought Mun-Kwang, Yon-Kyo's maid, had tuberculosis because he had seen her at the hospital, and she appeared to have symptoms similar to those of tuberculosis. In the current scene, he continues this discussion by indirectly stressing how dangerous it is for Mun-Kwang to be around the house, especially in the presence of Yon-Kyo's young son. His motive is to try and convince Yon-Kyo to reconsider keeping Mun-Kwang in her employ.
STATUS QUO OF MAIN CHARACTER
Before Ki-Tek brings up the discussion in the car, it is obvious that he is anxious. While at the mall, he had only mentioned the possibility of Mun-Kwang having tuberculosis. Yon-Kyong had disregarded this because Mun-Kwang had been in her employ for many years and was, therefore, trustworthy. However, as they are driving back home, Ki-Tek wants Yon-Kyo to take the matter seriously. So, he insists on introducing it again.
STAKES IN RELATION TO MAIN CHARACTER
As noted, before Ki-Tek re-introduces the discussion in the car, he is anxious. He knows that if he does not convince Yon-Kyo to take the matter seriously, she will not reconsider keeping Mun-Kwang in her employ.
