The film Casablanca generally explores themes of sacrifice and love. However, the 1942 film was viewed by the audience as a political allegory in relation to the World War 2. All that said, Casablanca qualifies as a war movie because it was set during the same month in 1942 when the Japanese attacked America's Pearl Harbor, eventually changing the American history of neutrality to draw the country into the war. However, there are lines of conflicts that can be drawn in this film, especially by considering the two main themes; war and love and sacrifice.
