The US History critical film review assignment is designed to supplement student knowledge of a particular historical period, person(s), event, or institution through the analysis of a related film. Plot Place and time Background
Write a synopsis, or summary, or the film.  Make sure that your summary makes sense to a reader who does notknow the movie.

Actual Historical Setting Comparison and Evaluation Self‐Reflection
Research the true history of the historical event, person(s), time period, or institution portrayed in the film. Were the movie characters based on actual people? If so, who were they and To what extent is the film historically accurate? Identify specific accuracies (or inaccuracies) and the director’s liberties with the film.
Provide a reflection of the film. Do not just say “I like is because it was a good movie” or “I hated it because it was boring.” Consider the following: How has the film furthered the student knowledge of US History? were they treated accurately? Were there any real events (battles, protests, laws, etc.)? Ifso, were they historically accurate? following: When and where was the movie set? If several location were used, were they all depicted realistically? How long a time span did it cover? Were the houses, furnishings, foods, tools, music, weapons, clothes, hairstyles, shoes, etc. shown with accuracy? Give examples of period props you think worked well or were poorly presented. the history portrayed? How did the film make you feel? Was there a part of the movie you have not been able to stop thinking about? Why? If you had been the director, would you have portrayed it differently? Why?
