Movie Review “Thor Ragnarok”
Introduction
Directed by Taika Waititi with a score by Mark Mothersbaugh, Thor Ragnarok is about the ancient god of thunder. The movie is about the imprisonment of Thor on the other side of the universe. Thor finds himself competing against time to get back to Asgard purposefully to stop Ragnarok. There has been a massive destruction of his homeworld at the hands of an all-powerful new threat, the ruthless Hela. Hela intended to spread Asgardian civilization. Thor finds himself in a deadly gladiatorial contest that pits him against his former ally and fellow Avenger, the Hulk. To escape from captivity and save him home from imminent destruction, Thor is obliged to win the deadly alien contest by defeating his former ally alongside fellow Avenger.
Thor Ragnarok has a good musical score composed by Mark Mothersbaugh. The plot of the movie is about the captivity. The musical scores help to advance the primary theme of violence. The behind-the-scene music conveys a mixed reaction from the audience. It is a well-composed music suitable for this movie because of the protagonist bitter about the advanced Asgardian civilization. The fight for freedom is never easy. There are life-threatening challenges involved in the quest for freedom. Thor has to put up with the severe condition in exile. The other essential camera techniques which help to advance the plot of the movie is the brightness and refined images released in the movie. The bloody appearance nature of the images cast on the pictures with spikes conveys the message of struggle towards change. The spikes show violence and bitter feelings throughout the movie. The theme of violence is widely proclaimed right from the beginning of the movie as various characters who we once ally became the great enemy.
The director has used the camera technique of enlargement to portray Thor images as a defiant giant who is ready to pawn on anyone against his will. Thor being the primary protagonist, he has a major task of stopping the Asgard civilization. The task is challenging since there are much more responsibilities to undertake before freeing his people from Asgard civilization. Thor is cast as a strong giant with extreme energy and courage to counter the force of Asgard civilization. Weak characters have little effort to escape from captivity.
