Biopsychosocial. Social Sciences Movie Review Assignment

Movie Review Instructions:

You are a case manager working with the Lehman Preventive Services Agency and you have been assigned to work with Love. Preventive Service Agencies work with families who have a history of involvement with the Administration of Children’s Services (ACS) because they have had a child removed or is at risk for removal from the home due to allegations of child abuse and neglect. The goal of preventive service agencies is to keep families together while ensuring that the children are developing physically, socially and emotionally age appropriately in a safe environment. This is achieved by providing direct (case management or counseling) or indirect (informational and referral) services that support and strengthen child and family functioning thereby reducing the risks that could lead to having children placed into the foster care system.
Families are generally assigned a case manager who partners with them to identify and assess their needs using a Bio-Psycho-Social assessment and then based on this assessment develop a service (or treatment) plan. For example, in working with a single parent family with a 12 year old boy the case manager in completing the BPS assesses the need for tutoring services for the 12 year old. The case manager would then assist the family is securing tutoring services by making a referral and supporting the child and the mother in the process of engaging in services. This work would be documented in the BPS and in the intervention plan section.
Case managers generally work with a caseload of 12 to 15 families for a period of 12 to 18 months during which they will meet with individual family members as well as the entire family. Meetings occur as often as needed and at least twice per month (either in the agency, in the client’s home or in the community) during which they monitor the home and support adaptive functioning.
Within this context, write a 5 to 7 page paper (12 point font with 1” margins) that addresses each component of the BPSS assessment focusing on Love and based on the information you have gathered from watching the movie. The BPSS is written in a narrative format using the main headings of the different sections (see below). Please refer to the BPSS guide for further explanations about the specific information to include under the different headings.
note: I will attach more detailed explanation on attached files.

BPSS is a process by which social workers use to understand a specific client by determining how their strengths and weaknesses determine their problems. Some of the problems include their physical, mental and emotional welfare. Also, a client's relationship with people surrounding him especially family and the community, in general, is very essential when carrying out BPSS procedure. Basically what the BPPS does is it helps understand the various factors that affect the condition of the client to decide which areas in specific require to be dealt with as soon as possible. The movie Love and Diane is an example we are going to use to whereby we will specifically look into Love's life using the BPSS procedure to determine and asses her needs using a particular format.
Identifying Information
The move Love and Diane is a film about Diane Hazard who is a young loving mother of six kids who unlike other young black mothers, she is carried away by drug cocaine life of the city which came to have a devastating effect on her parenting life to the point where one of her children, Love who happens to be the eldest, has to report to her school teacher of how bad their situation was to the point she and her 5 siblings are used to going to bed hungry. Love's life throughout the film shows how the child welfare system can be ruthless when it comes to the upbringing and general welfare of a child.
Ten years after Love had shared the information with her teacher about her family's situation, the story picks up in Brooklyn New York where they had moved to after the incident. This is after being separated from one another during the past 6 years. This is after the social workers' system for children took them under foster care. This back and forth situation forced Diane to do what most crackheads aren't able to do and give up the drug life which had made her miss important parts of her children's lives. But her life was still a mess even after recovering from her addiction since she had self-esteem problems and she still had children who depended on her not forgetting she was languishing in poverty.
