Introduction
Get Out is a 2017 horror/mystery film that was directed by Jordan Peele, an award-winning director, comedian, and producer that is most famous for his subtle satirical attacks on racism. This has shaped the overall trajectory of the movie as its plot was aimed at addressing obvious yet unrecognized systemic racism that exists in today’s society. According to an interview with him, the film was initially intended for Black audiences who are usually underrepresented in horror movies (Lopez, 2017). This is where he met the gardener and the maid, who are both blacks. Succeeding to this, Rose’s parents had a family reunion where they invited many people. Even though Chris was able to integrate successfully, he cannot help but notice that some of the women (even old ones) have Black boyfriends, maids, and servants who are unusually quiet. Even during the beginning of the movie, Chris was introduced as a person who has a smoking addict...
