Validity of Test Results
Taylor Swift‘s PAI profile indicated that the features were valid, and the validity indices indicate assessment based on testing. The results are based on the accurate impression of the client. Failure to answer all the questions, defensiveness and confusion are some of the factors that may affect the results validity. Results are valid and all the responses were complete and Swift responded consistently. She has a history of substance abuse, mania, depression, and sexual trauma, making her defensive and likely to distrust others, but she answered the questions.
Clinical Features
There is a range of clinical features and multiple diagnoses based on the test results. The t-score for antisocial features (ANT) is 97 compared to 91 for mania (MAN), 82 for borderline features (BOR), and 78 for suicidal ideation (SUI). Taylor Swift is also depressed and has alcohol problems, there is an increased risk of impulsive behavior, addictive disorders, and suicidal behavior. Taylor Swift may exhibit antisocial behavior, and the affective, cognitive, and behavioral symptoms are associated with acting impulsively. People with antisocial traits have often disregard other people’s rights and the traits are linked with high negative emotionality Mania is often linked with bipolar disorder.
Swift reported, “I have a general annoyance with the world,” indicating there are negative emotions and unpleasant feelings. Among the common borderline features, symptoms are social isolation and impaired social relationships, and Swift reports, “My dad sucks” and “my mom is okay sometimes.” It is concerning that she no longer feels close to some of her friends and thinks that her father “sucks,” resulting in her isolating herself from closed family members and friends. She also does not find school fun and is struggling. On the subscale profile, stimulus-seeking (ANT-S) had the highest score. Stimulus-seeking is associated with a craving sensation, and excitement, risk-taking, and a low tolerance for boredom. The other highly ranked subscales that are part of mania activity level (MAN-A) and irritability (MAN-I). Mania activity level is associated with over involvement in numerous activities in a disorganized manner thoughts and behavior. Irritability is associated with strained relationships and frustrations because of difficulties keeping up with others and plans.
