Lab Report Instructions:

This lab report is regarding the Anthropology. The detail of instruction and grading rubric is in the attachment, please use the data of I have gathered and recorded in part A and finish the lab report in part B. The part B also have some examples for this lab report. The required textbook for this lab report is "Jurmain, Robert, Lynn Kilgore, Wenda Trevathan, Eric J. Bartelink (2016) Essentials of Physical Anthropology, 10th edition, Wadsworth, Cengage Learning. "
Requirement as following:
Write a brief report (one page, single-spaced) that includes your responses to the bullet points below. Write in complete sentences – spelling and grammar do count (see grading rubric below).
-Introduction: In a brief paragraph, state the purpose of the lab and the process of collecting data.
-Station 1 Cranial Hypotheses: From your lab prep, state your hypothesis concerning which traits you would use to differentiate the skulls of a nonhuman primate (modern chimpanzee), A. afarensis, and early Homo. Explain why you chose these distinguishing traits and discuss the basis for this choice (think environmental or adaptive factors) in one paragraph.
-Station 1 Cranial Hypotheses Testing: In the next paragraph, discuss what you found when you tested your hypotheses (i.e., collected data from the specimens). Were you able to differentiate the specimens based on your hypotheses? Does the data you collected support or refute your hypotheses? Were certain traits more useful to investigate than others? Were there traits that you should have included in your hypotheses?
-Station 2 Dental Hypotheses: From your lab prep, state your hypothesis concerning which traits you would use to differentiate the dentition of a nonhuman primate (chimp), A. afarensis, and early Homo. Explain why you chose these distinguishing traits and discuss the basis for this choice (think environmental or adaptive factors) in one paragraph.

The main purpose of this experiment is to have quick overview of the evolutionary pattern of the early hominins. By using the skull and the jaw of these hominins and comparing the features with those of the modern chimpanzee, A. Afarensis, and early Homo, we can glean some information about the various differences that the evolution of these species took.
In order to distinguish between the three species, even just a little background knowledge between their evolutionary patterns could be much help. In order to quickly differentiate between the three, I chose to look at the overall size and shape of their skulls first. This is because even without any further examination of the inside, the shape of the skull would also determine the size of the species’ brain. The distinction goes as follows...
