You are a veterinarian working in Indooroopilly and return from lunch to find a nurse treating a six-year-old kelpie, Baxter. Baxter is very lethargic, has an increased heart rate, and when you pinch his skin, the fold remains visible. The owner tells you that they knew something was wrong when, upon returning to the outdoor car park from a three-hour shopping trip, they saw Baxter passed out on the back seat. The temperature in the car would have been very high, and Baxter will have lost a lot of water through evaporation as he panted to stay cool. This loss of water would have reduced his blood volume, thereby increasing the concentration of the ECF.
Hypothesis
This is the hypothesis that you developed before conducting your experiment.
It is hypothesized that a hypertonic solution will cause a decrease in the PCV when compared to the negative control, which is the isotonic solution (150nM). This experiment is done in Sheep (Ovis aries) red blood cells.

Materials and Methods
1M stock solution of Sodium Chloride was added in a 100-ml volumetric flask. After this process, micro-centrifuge, there was the labeling of test-tubes, as well as hematocrit tubes depending on the tests that were to be carried. After correctly labeling the test tube, a pipette was used to add one millimeter of deionized H2O into the first test-tube. As a result, the solution resulted in an isotonic solution, which was marketed as negative control 0 M. following this activity, I decreased the volume of water in the test tube by 0.1milimeters. The experiment was proceeded by filling the test tube to provide a stock solution, which was then used in raising the volume of the test tube to 2millimters. After this, there was the labeling of the test tube that was with the 0.1-millimeter solution as 0.05M. the concentrations that were obtained included 0, 0.05, 0.1, 0.15, 0.2, and 0.25. this was followed by using ratio 1:3 to pipette blood and solutions into the micro-centrifuge, which had been set before. The main method of combining the solutions was by inversion of the tubes in a gentle measure. After this, the solutions of blood were then put into hematocrit tubes, which were then plugged by the use of plasticines. It was followed by carefully placing the hematocrit tubes into centrifuges, ensuring that a state of uniformity was realized. The hematocrit centrifuge was then to spin for 3minutes at 10000RPM. Once there was the completion of this process, the PCV result was obtained by the use of the Critocap meter. There was conducting of comparative analysis, and the results were put into graphs
