Gender sensitivity and imbalances are still a major problem in many nations across the world. The superiority of one gender dominating over the other has led to inequalities regarding income generating opportunities. As a result, girl child has faced the challenges of misrepresentations in the society. The essay illustrates the representation of gender in the society as evidently shown from the song “Times have changed” by Tanya Chua
Gender Roles
The woman is not given an opportunity to decides on important matters such as marriage. As illustrated in the video, the parents force their daughter to get married arguing that she had reached the expiration date. After giving birth, she is sent out of a job to take care of the child. Essentially, the female gender has no voice in the making of the society. She is excluded from important matters of the family hence making her regret in life.
