Societies that protect individual liberty allow people to exercise their rights and freedoms, making it easier for people to pursue different opportunities. Individual liberty extends to economic freedom, which is most associated with capitalist societies and the societies that respect the principles of laissez faire. There are now various indices of economic freedom published annually by different organizations analyze fundamental aspects for the correct functioning of the market. Some of the aspects considered are ease of doing business, trade openness, good tax policies, investment protection, austerity in public spending, legal protection and financial competitiveness. Poverty and scarcity of resources are problems that still affect human beings, and while the latter cannot be changed it is possible to increase the wealth of a body politic by providing an enabling environment.[Minoo Farhadi, Md Rabiul Islam, and Solmaz Moslehi. "Economic freedom and productivity growth in resource-rich economies." World Development 72 (2015): 112.]
One of the first things to do is to determine how individual liberty influences wealth is looking at the patterns between body politics that are wealthy and those that are poor. The case for this is that it provides insight on how wealth is generated and how it has reached the current levels of civilization and prosperity in different societies. Individual liberty is cherished in Judeo-Christian societies and this has allowed Western societies to thrive as people exercise freedom. For long periods of western history the main source of wealth was land, a resource of whose supply is fixed. At the same time, exploitation and conquest were other ways that societies gained more wealth, but this mostly redistributes wealth from one part of the society to another. When there is focus on individual liberty there is more emphasis on creating wealth and not stealing. As such, there would be a need to identify the causes of wealth in societies that openly support individual liberty.[Kenneth Scheve and David Stasavage. "Wealth inequality and democracy." Annual Review of Political Science 20 (2017): 453.]
After enquiring about individual liberty and wealth in body politic, it is necessary to collect information and where possible data about the phenomena. The case for this, is that it helps to establish where there is a link between how a society is organized and wealth. Different societies have different conditions, and identifying factors that interfere with the outcomes will help to get a clearer picture about the situation. Data and information are also useful to establish patterns that help explain the theory. Collecting more information and evidence may be necessary to validate the hypothesis and explaintheassumedlink between individual liberties a need wealth. Typically, theories are accepted if the evidence supporting them is overwhelming and there are previous researches on how freedom influences wealth and growth prospects.
There is likelihood of there being numerous outcomes when testing the theory, but there may be different factors that affect the prediction that are not captured in the evidence co...
