The study of evolutionary forces and the reconstruction of hominid evolution is an ongoing exercise. In the 21st century we know a great deal more about genetics and evolution than Darwin did in 19th century. Discuss RECENT discoveries in evolutionary studies, including the human genome project. what impact do these new discoveries have on evolutionary studies?

Introduction
Over the years humanity has been determined to tell their genesis, not with the bible of course, but through studies. This has been evident since the 18th and 19th century, with numerous expeditions of researchers and explorers who were trying to put humanity in nature’s timeline of existence. It was until Charles Darwin discoveries in Eastern Africa that shifted attention to that continent. Later to be believed by many -after a series of excavations and tests on tons and tons of bones- that Africa is the origin of humans. Before, scientific conferences and presentations with little unveiled were the routines that had many motivated to specialize in this field. Hence the goal of this paper is to compile the discoveries made over this period and ultimately draw a conclusion to probably suit the future for reference.
Further analyses on protein constituents (chromosomes) in fossils from all over the world by biochemists brought understanding of sequence and progression from simpler features to the complex ones. Biochemists’ task was rather cumbersome, finding traces of proteins in the fossils dating millions of years, but they did it. Their findings helped paleontologists make a connection between earlier records and the recent excavations. Linking these totally different creatures based on their composition required an explanation. But since they (paleontologists and biochemists) had different convictions on early human time of existence, a lot was later to be unearthed and solve this difference (Coppen, 1994).
All was complete when the scientific advancement reached its peak with the discovery of genes and further DNA. Initially they might have stumbled upon it accidentally, but what a coincidence at an appropriate time of intellectual turmoil. Who would have though of this? This hidden knowledge at first must have sounded like a code from aliens in the outer space. Were it not have been for the arguments and intense investigation back and forth then even simpler coded language would have slipped researchers’ minds and comprehension. This marked a major milestone it truly was the missing magical piece in the puzzle of mankind’s origin as we are going to witness in recent discoveries made (Coppen, 1994).
First, deeper and detailed analysis on proteins revealed something almost cryptic called a Gene. This structural element of life is responsible for passing distinguishable individual characteristics from one generation to the other through reproduction. This microscopic mechanism of evolution has been evident across all species and hence a perfect explanation for what was there before and then regardless of time (Haviland & Craw...
