Due Date Discussion Board #3             The first crisis in Erickson’s stages of psychological development is trust and mistrust (Orenstein & Lewis, 2022). Noa appears to have resolved this stage seamlessly because her mother was always present to meet her feeding needs on-demand. Evidence displays her as a well-balanced child who enjoyed the resolution of this crisis with her mother to favor trust. As a result, the outcome was positive. Thus, since the mother demonstrated to sufficiently meet her needs, the result was favorable.             Immediately after solving the first crisis, Noa faced the one around elements of autonomy and shame. This issue coincides with the second stage of psychological development in Ericksen’s theory. Despite trusting her parents, she was grappling with her desire to exercise her autonomy of feeding herself or toileting despite her inexperience in executing these activities (Orenstein & Lewis, 2022). However, she managed to resolve them by practicing and receiving continued encouragement from her mother even after making several mistakes until she learned. As a result, she gained autonomy by learning to walk, feed herself early, and use her potty. This growth was favorable and rose from the parents’ care to avoid criticizing or overprotecting her through this stage.                Once Noa overcame the second stage, she progressed to the next crisis of initiative against guilt while expressing her desire to execute various things independently without assistance from her caregiver.
