Introduction
Art can be used to follow up on Bipolar I Symptoms. This is why I have chosen Bipolar I as the type of disorder to use. Basically, the piece of art that I have drawn, can be used as a reflection of the symptoms of a bipolar individual through various stages. People diagnosed with the disorder have feelings of hopelessness, being worthless or being on the edge. Artwork can be used to mirror the changes they go through in their lifetime. My piece of art can be used to monitor mood changes in terms of depression, anxiety, and stress. People can best understand their emotions through drawings and paintings. Therefore, art is a tool that helps someone with the disorder reveal their inner emotions in an incredible manner.
Diagnosis Criteria
The diagnosis of Bipolar I Disorder is determined in terms of the number of manic episodes experienced. This is a process that is linked to the presence or absence of mixed features. According to the Diagnostic and Statistical Manual of Mental Disorders, Fifth Edition, the diagnosis follows a criterion (A-D). These are the steps that are used to determine whether an individual has a Bipolar I Disorder or not.

The colors in the piece of art can be used to show changes in a patient’s mood; The red and orange show elevation in one’s mood, while the dark and light blue indicate stability in terms of behavior.

* Individuals often experience grandiosity, a feeling of increased self-esteem. Here, the individual feels like they can reach the sky. However, this is a feeling that can only last for a week or a day. At the background of the piece, I have three rays of light emanating from a central board. This is an indication that a patient is experiencing increased self-esteem. On the same note, the top right corner has a figure of a beast with a cool dark blue color. It implies that a patient has feelings of high self-esteem. Unfortunately, the feeling of being important diminishes after a while as indicated by the crying human figure at the bottom right corner of my piece of art.
* Individuals show lack of interest in sleep. Usually, they experience insomnia after about three hours of sleep. A decline in the need for sleep can be identified in the art. At the section to the left, there is a human figure lying on a mat with a pen in one hand. The mat is full of drawings of lines and one shaded figu...
