Liberalism tends to focus on the side of the human nature that is competitive in constructive ways and is often guided by reasons and not emotions. Most importantly, liberals believe that although people are self-interested, the needs of society can change people constructively. Besides, economic liberals are mainly focused on the domain where the states show their cooperativeness as well as constructive natures through harmonious competition. Politics also have a huge impact on economics of trade, in 1980s, the prime Minister of Great Britain, Margaret Thatcher and the United States President, Ronald Reagan facilitated economic liberal policies which included reducing taxes innated of increasing government spending.
On the other side, structuralism is established on Marxist analysis, and it mainly focuses on the already established and dominant economic structures in society, and it affects class interests and relations.
