1. 1. Briefly outline the basic ways that economic liberals, and structuralists view trade. Be sure emphasize the relationships between politics and economics of trade in your answer.

It is critical to comprehend that economic liberals in the United States and other countries such as Canada and Australia are common in that they seek liberty under the law. Liberalism tends to focus on the side of the human nature that is competitive in constructive ways and is often guided by reasons and not emotions. Most importantly, liberals believe that although people are self-interested, the needs of society can change people constructively. Besides, economic liberals are mainly focused on the domain where the states show their cooperativeness as well as constructive natures through harmonious competition. Politics also have a huge impact on economics of trade, in 1980s, the prime Minister of Great Britain, Margaret Thatcher and the United States President, Ronald Reagan facilitated economic liberal policies which included reducing taxes innated of increasing government spending.
On the other side, structuralism is established on Marxist analysis, and it mainly focuses on the already established and dominant economic structures in society, and it affects class interests and relations. The lecture on structuralism slide 2 emphasized that structuralist economist maintain that the world controlled by the capitalists who are aimed at protecting and defending the interests of the capitalist class that is dominant in the society. Besides, slide 3 explains that the capitalist class control both production and other levels of governance, such as military and educational institutions. In this case, people are forced to be competitive and politically complacent. In structuralism, the political behaviors of a state are controlled by motivated by economic motivations and the politics are mainly dependent on the economic power.

It is critical to note that if the United States dollar depreciates relative to the Chinese Yuan, then it is likely that the depreciation would have either positive or negative impacts on the consumers and businesses from both countries.
