Trade Adjustment Assistance program in the U.S. aimed at helping people who had lost their jobs due to increased competition in the foreign trade. Trade, like any other sector, is highly dynamic and bound to change. Hyman (2018) claims that it helps in assisting workers who lose their jobs or whose hours of work and wages were reduced due to increased imports or shifts in production out of the United States.
Ideas such as training ranging from occupational, remedial, work-based, customized and apprenticeship were brought on board. According to mathematical policy research, more than 50 percent of trainees in the fields of a healthcare practitioner, production, or transportation and material moving were likely to be employed in those fields (Schochet et al., 2012).
