Culture (the merging of two different organizations one US-based and the other Global)
Imagine you work for one of the following global company: Marriott Hotel or Hilton Hotel
Think of this assignment in terms of a couple of paragraphs and a checklist.
First, select an organization from above. (Marriott Hotel or Hilton Hotel)
For example (You chose Marriott Hotels)
In a brief paragraph, write an overview of Marriott (they are the global company).
Check their website for some information about the hotel (mission, vision, goals, locations, etc).
Next, create a company of your choice (domestic), that could merge with Marriott. For example, I might name my company Chelsea Catering Corporation, located in Houston, TX and the company is going to merge with Marriott Hotels as a new subsidiary of their food catering division. I would develop a few things about Chelsea Catering, such as they have been in business for 32 years, publicly-traded, has 500 employees, etc.
Write a brief paragraph of the domestic company you have created.
Then Develop a checklist- let's say 8 or 10 steps that I, as the HR Director, would take to unify the new company culture. Keep in mind, you are merging a domestic company with a global organization here. Therefore, think about the customs, languages, diversity issues, country location, HR problems, and other potential global issues that might affect the new merging employee workforce.
Now briefly explain why you think each of the steps you identified should be a part of the merger plans to make/ensure success in developing a new organizational culture. Yes, this does mean you will need to do your research on what-Exactly, does organizational culture mean. Do not try and guess, it does not work in this case. Do your research on this subject matter. The world is becoming much more intertwined together, or as they say at Disney, "it's a small world after all."

The vast number of workers reveals the significant development realized by the company since only large operating corporations can need the services of such a considerable number of employees. The public company intends to adopt the entire world to access and enjoy their traveling services on events like tourism as they lodge in their efficient facilities. On the other hand, the mission statement is “To enhance the lives of our customers by creating and enabling unsurpassed vacation and leisure experience” (Business Strategy Hub, 2020). Marriott stated and believes in attaining the mission by offering its customers products that will leave them with no options but choose their brand due to the high quality of services provided (Business Strategy Hub, 2020). Thus, the organization’s goal is to provide its customers with premium quality products.
Chelsea Catering Corporation
Chelsea Catering Corporation is an American hospitality organization offering various catering facilities in the company and also providing outside facilities for people desiring to hire catering services for events. The organization is located in Houston, Texas, in the United States. This company was founded in 1982 by a group of catering students who had just graduated with undergraduate degrees in hospitality and hotel management. The individuals started from a little scratch with small capital since they did not require much investment because they did most of the work in the organization. Their commitment and hard work resulted in the organic growth of the corporation, as witnessed in the eaves of the 1990s. The company had a population of 600 employees in December 2019. This group reveals the great work done by the founders towards ensuring the development of their organization.
