The following factors influence the choice of leadership styles or behaviors in workplace situations:
The Desire for Change in Firms and Individual Workers
If managers would like to see changes in their organizations, they will choose transformational leadership style. This style of leadership encourages bringing of change within the institutions and employees. Managers initiate the occurrence by helping others to do more than they think is possible. The managers start by setting up of challenging expectations, hence end up attaining more excellent performance. This behavior helps companies to have motivated and contented supporters, since, the leaders empower them.
The Desire to produce more
When leaders desire to have more, they choose to use strategic leadership style in their management. In this leadership style, managers who are departmental heads are not limited to decisions from those at higher levels of management. It includes a substantial number of employees at all levels in making own choices as the firm wishes to produce a high-performance team.
The Desire for Teamwork
Leaders who have the passion for teamwork tend to use democratic leadership style. This style inspires employees to share work responsibilities. Workers perform their duties with a positive attitude because this leadership style permits them to participate in the business processes by giving their opinions.
Quality Decisions
When an organization does not have experienced workers and management would want to have quality work, executives use autocratic leadership style to force other workers to implement the leaders' decisions, which are thought to be of quality. Through the use of autocratic leadership style, juniors are not allowed to air their views. This behavior ensures that team members implement the manager's commands, which is suitable during emergency periods.

Where firms desire for continuous improvement of its workers, hence, high performance, then they choose coaching leadership style. Coaching leadership deals with the training and supervising supporters. A coaching leader decides where the performance or outcomes need improvement. Managers assist followers in enhancing their expertise. Coaching leadership encourages, inspires, and boosts the morale of its supporters.
