In contemporary society, many people are attached to their phones. Phone usage is becoming a basic need for many people in the world. It is one of the unavoidable things that all of us must cope with. While phones are beneficial, it is inappropriate to use them in theatres. There are many adverse effects associated with the use of cellphones in theatres. It is very rare to see people shutting down their phones when watching movies in theatres. As an individual, I believe that people must never use their phones in theatres. There are other areas phones can be used for communication without causing problems. Every person must never use phones in the theatre because of the distractions and restlessness they cause.
One of the main challenges when using a phone in theatre is distracting other people. When people text while in the theatre and the lights are off, people are distracted from the stage to pay attention to phone screen lights. Therefore, to remain civil and ensure that all people enjoy the film or performance in theatre, phones should never be brought inside. In one instance, I went to a movie theatre with a friend. One audience member who was sitting next to me started to text using his phone. The phone light was distracting. When there are no phones within the theatre, the movie experience is smooth for everyone.
