Introduction
European history is endowed with decorative arts, paintings. and sculptures that are associated with Renaissance. The study of human expression; simulated, spatial and perhaps acoustic entails the analysis and interpretation of past drawings, paintings, pictures, and sculptures (Staniszewski, 1998). The importance of learning art history is however not as emphasized as that of technical subjects. Technical fields are embraced across the world, perchance because machine operator and researcher posts are widely advertised and vacant in virtually all organizations. As much as art history cannot claim dominance over other fields, the significance of learning the subject cannot be overlooked. The importance of studying art history is examined below.

Understanding past events while in the field during researches and excursions is vital. While taking a look at a painting or a sculpture may not pass the message in it, studying art history enables individuals to gain insight in events of the past. Every artist works under distinct circumstances. These circumstances influence the outcome of the drawing, sculpture, or painting. The image portrayed is often as a result of the prevailing conditions. It is the prevailing conditions that shape the past of every community (Staniszewski, 1998). Documenting and understanding a particular past event thus commands great knowledge in art history.
For Culture Appreciation
It is important to appreciate the culture, lifestyle, and societal norms in the society. Each piece of art is a direct link to the way people live; the social aspect, how they earn a living, the way they construct their shelter, the rites of passage, among others. The religion of a community can be told from past drawings and paintings. Paintings of elders or priests burning sacrifices infer that the community worships either a supreme being, or a family of gods, whom they revere.
