Why there Has Been A Rapid Spike of COVID-19 Cases in the USA
There has been a dramatic increase in the number of COVID-19 cases in the United States of America (USA). Currently, the USA has recorded approximately 32 million of coronavirus infections and over 567,000 have dided due to coronavirus-related complications. One of the reasons that can be attributed to the rising cases of COVID-19 infections is the lack of observing the protocols set by the government to reduce the spread of coronavirus. Another reason is the lack of effective contact tracing, which facilitates the spread of the disease from a few individuals.
Coronavirus infections continue to spike in the USA due to the failure of adhering to established protocols, such as social distancing, hand washing and sanitizing, wearing face masks all the time, and the isolation for infected people. Besides, when the coronavirus was declared a pandemic by the World Health Organization (WHO), many people feared and they were ready to stay at home to reduce its spread. Individuals thought that the disease will go away after a short period, which is not the case. After remaining at home for some time, where many businesses were closed and numerous people lost their jobs, some of these individuals depleted their savings (Rodriguez, 2020). In that light, they started not caring so much about the disease, but instead the effects that might arise from staying at home, namely hunger and homelessness. That is why today many people are not afraid of being infected as long as they are working to meet their daily necessities.
The lack of effective contact tracing is another thing that has contributed to the rapid increase of COVID-19 cases in the USA.
