The issue discussed in the article is sexual offences and the way such crimes can be avoided. Pedophilia is a mental disorder that gives adults a sense of sexual attraction towards younger children who are below a reasonable age to give consent for sexual activity to happen. A pedophile can be identified if he is five years older than the child they abused and should be above sixteen years with recurrent, heavy and sexually arousing fantasies. Pedophiles, therefore, abuse children by inappropriately touching them and forcing them to engage in sexual activity with them hence, child abuse. The essay talks about the various cases of sexual abuse that range from pedophilia to juvenile sex offenders and the punishment that the offenders ought to receive in order to prevent the occurrence of the same in future.
I agree that sexual offenders should be registered with the police in order to notify the members of the community about the proximity of the sexual offenders. However, this should be regulated in such a way that the innocent sexual offenders should not be registered. Most young sexual offenders do so out of innocence and if they are registered as sexual offenders due to their one act of sexual misconduct, it will ridicule them in future despite the fact their offense was a self-discovery.
