Difference Between Internal and External Evidence in Nursing Research

1. After discussion with your mentor, name one financial aspect, one quality aspect, and one clinical aspect that need to be taken into account for developing the evidence-based practice project. Explain how your proposal will directly and indirectly impact each of the aspects.
a) Financial aspect
Much money is required to establish facilities conducive for both the patients and nurses. Finances used to establish facilities that encourage evidence-based practice (EBP) may be obtained from donations, investments, and government grants. In addition, the place will be a nursing home for those patients with diabetes especially type-two diabetes. Nurse turnover can be addressed by financially related management steps like staffing, training, equipping and offering good remunerations, among others.
b) Quality aspect
EBP needs high quality for correct performance. All steps are supposed to be designed in order to avoid low quality practices. Nurse staff shortage is a threat to quality of healthcare and safety of patients in hospital facilities. The quality aspect should be carefully considered as a sensitive matter. Quality of facility is dependent on service that the patients get because it is priority of the healthcare program. EBP aims to improve quality healthcare facility at all times for the patients to receive high quality and compliant services.
c) Clinical aspect
The research is concerned by long term nursing care to elderly above 40 years old. It is aimed to offer right clinical care to patients. The research addresses nurse staff shortage, which will ensure nurses are adequate for the job requirements, are properly equipped, and trained to offer quality service to patients. Shifts and length of clinical work will be addressed in the research. Nurses to patient ratio will be discussed in reference to legal and policies provisions.

Now that you have completed a series of assignments that have led you into the active project planning and development stage for your project, briefly describe your proposed solution to address the problem, issue, suggestion, initiative, or educational need and how it has changed since you first envisioned it. What led to your current perspective and direction?
The proposed solution will use evidence based practice (EBP) approach. Suggestions from survey data and information from literature review will be used to find solution to the problem. Management solutions such as planning of shifts, staffing, remuneration, and checking for legal compliance in relation to nurse patient ration will be examined.
The survey method of addressing the problem was adopted to enable the researcher to get first-hand information from nurses, patients, and management. The solution will incorporate perspectives of the persons involved.
3. Describe one internal and one external method for the dissemination of your EBP project results. For example, an internal method may be the hospital board, and an external method may be a professional nursing organization. Discuss why it is important to report your results to both of these groups. How will your communication strategies change for each group?
