The rise of Ottoman in Britain, who levied high taxes on European goods to the East and the flourishing trade in Asia, may be the likely reasons that prompted the European businessmen to search for the alternative routes. This was after the sailors from Portugal found the seaway to Asia through the south of Africa.
The Black Death was branded the great epidemic disease, which killed many people in Europe especially in Italy. The cause was neither known nor the cure. This happened way before the Europeans started looking for alternative routes to the Asian continent. Hence, it might not have been the cause of the new route search.
The interaction in the Eurasia was after the new alternative route was found and used by sailors to Asia.
