An Introduction to Issues Health & Social Care
The health and social services in the United Kingdom have undergone major changes. Major debates led to the subsequent reforms that began in 1948. Before major reforms were introduced, the UK health and social systems did not work well; it was a patchwork of institutions that were not accessible to many people (Dickinson & O'Flynn, 2016). Over 68 years after the introduction of the National Health Services, the UK is considered as having the best welfare system funded by the government that is free at the point of use (Dickinson & O'Flynn, 2016).

Milestone I: the launch of NHS marked the beginning of major development in both health and social care services; NHS is publicly funded with the view that good healthcare needs to be available to all regardless of one's levels of income (O’Hara & Gosling, 2014).In 1948 to date includes, providing free health care and social services at a central point.
