One greatest advantage of choosing the midwifery profession is the specialization and professionalism that it entails. Thus, my aspiration of becoming a midwife came from the passion I had for the career. My mother encouraged me a lot of the numerous activities involved and the need to save a life of a woman. Currently, I am a conscientious, professional and highly trained midwife with excellent skills in communication. I am always committed to give the best quality care and aims at delivering best support for mothers and families as a whole during and after pregnancy period. Apart from the stated skills, my professional strengths include more than 18-year hands-on experience in the L&D, NICU, postpartum, Pediatrics, preoperative, postoperative and medical-surgical units. Furthermore, I am compassionate, caring and empathetic when giving care to patients of all ages. Above all, I am a self-motivated person with a desire to learn and advance skills in midwifery profession.
To date, I have gained professional experiences on midwifery which include providing care in postpartum, transitional nursing, performed patient-focused medical-surgical nursing, care in preoperative and postoperative units for normal and altered mental status patients. In addition, I have experience in vein puncture, patient advocacy and education, medication administration and electronic charting among others.
I am ready to further develop myself through the enrolment of the master’s degree on Nurse-Midwifery and Women’s Health Nurse Practitioner Program which will pave my way to accomplish my childhood dream of becoming an NDWHNP with better knowledge of care for expectant women, lactating mothers, and babies. On the same note, this faculty will make me a better and all rounded medical professional which will be beneficial to the community that I will serve as well as enable me to increase my career by helping people in need of help, sick mothers and babies at all costs. On a separate note, using the multilingual skills to enrich my speech, I will be able to reach mothers of different cultural backgrounds who speak English, Persian, Turkish and Urdu.
