Extra Credit Creative Writing on The SCAD Museum of Art

I have always been in love with visiting art exhibitions. On November 2, 2018, I got a chance to visit the SCAD Museum of Art to enjoy Knee Deep, an exhibition by Kenzie Adair (B.F.A., painting, 2014). I reached there with a couple of friends and was amazed by Adair’s incredible mixed-media works. The theme of this exhibition was nature, and through a variety of paintings and artworks, the artist tried to get us closer to nature and made us forget about fabrication.
Through her incredible collection that ranged from layered paintings of flowers to simple paintings with human figures, the artist highlighted how human beings have been destroying the beauty of nature. We are closely linked to animals and plants and depend on natural resources or things for our survival. However, it looks like human beings have forgotten this reality and have started replacing natural things with fabricated and artificial items, which is a matter of great concern.
With this thing in mind, the artist presented some paintings and tried to deliver a message that materialistic things can never be an alternative to natural things. By the whole, Knee Deep had a lot to learn from. Born in Oklahoma, Kenzie Adair has exhibited her paintings in group exhibitions in Tulsa, Savannah, Lacoste and other parts of the world. Through this particular exhibition, she was able to convey her emotions for nature.
