Management theory composed of rules and sets of ideas that guide managers and supervisors. By using the theory, managers are able to understand the set general rules and how to manage a business or organization. Management theory guides managers how to relate to the organizational goals and implementing effective means to accomplish these set goals. Management theories guides managers how to manage employees to perform to the best of their abilities towards achieving the same goal (Chuck, 1999).
Importance of Management Theory
Management theory helps managers plan properly as required in the most efficient and effective way to achieve the organization goals .Using management theory managers can understand what motivates people at work and how they can be motivated to achieve the organization goal (Hamilton, 2015).
Management theory is important because it helps managers know how to make people more productive in an organization. The key issue in understanding management theory is that business can maximize productivity by driving employees towards the same goal. Management a theory also presents different schools of thought serving as a guide in undertaking how organization operations can be conducted (Hamilton, 2015).
Managing theory helps managers understand how to deal with certain issues that may exist in workplaces. Using the theory, managers can efficiently respond to certain issues that might arise to maintain or improving level of productivity. Management methods help us to communicate efficiently as people move into complex work relationships. These theories provide basic work assumptions to increase productivity (Hamilton, 2015). Human relations management theory is one of the most interesting theories in management. The theory states that people desire to form part of the supportive team that brings about development and growth in organizations. My area of focus for this research is to understand what motivates workers and what attracts them to particular organizations that seem to be successful and more profitable. I would like to know more about what happens to a situation when employees receive special attention and are actively included in the organization decision-making processes.
My research aims at finding out how employees perceive themselves within the organization, do they look at themselves as significant contributors. In the study, I would assess how individual attention and recognition aligns with the human relations theory because many theorists in the past have supported the idea of motivation. Several studies support the importance of human relation especially in workplaces. That is why my research approach aims at proving to the management the idea of employee motivation.
