Human resource management is critical in determining the effectiveness of managing people in an institution. The strategy is designed to maximize the performances of the employees to achieve the vision laid forward by the employer. CITATION Wil10 \l 1033 (Wilton, 2010) The department is solely responsible for overseeing employees' conduct and performance, recruiting, training and development of the employees. For an institution to achieve success, the employees have the biggest role to play in turning a vision into reality, and that’s why the sole purpose of HR management is ensuring that success is achieved through the employees. This position is critical as it maintains the balance of all aspects of the organization; finance, social and ethical. The management conduct towards the employee is monitored, and it cannot make certain decisions without running them by the human resource management. The employees are also under scrutiny on how they conduct their duties and how they interact with each other. Human resource management is the glue that holds an organization together
The human resource managers have key roles and responsibilities in healthcare organizations such as staffing and recruiting of suitable personnel, facilitating employer-employee relations, seeing to it that facilities comply with laws of the healthcare system, training employees, and creating a good working environment. Laws like the Medicaid and Medicare Patient Protection Act of 1987 need to be adhered to to ensure that the patients get the service they paid for. For the employees, laws that govern labor and employment provide them with a safety net, and it is up to the HR to make sure that the health facility complies with these laws to avoid any complaints, fines or legal actions taken against them.
Another role of human resource management is facilitating a mutual and respectful employer-employee relationship. The relationship is interdependent as one party requires the other for the smooth execution of responsibilities in the health facility. The HR manager, therefore, acts as a bridge between the two parties. Employees go through the HR manager to air their complaints and grievances to the management while the management, in turn, goes through the HR manager to give instructions and requirements that the employees should follow in thei...
