Global goal: Zero Hunger
I have chosen this goal because extreme hunger is a barrier to development in many countries. Currently, approximately 690 million people suffer from severe hunger and malnutrition caused by extreme drought and famine, environmental pollution, climate change, and biodiversity loss. Close to 131 million children below five years are affected, and one in three women in the reproductive bracket is anemic (Banerjee et al., 2019). COVID-19 pandemic has put another 144 million people at risk of acute hunger by the end of 2020.
My interest in this goal is to end all forms of malnutrition and acute hunger by 2030. It also ensures all vulnerable groups have access to nutritious food by supporting small scale farmers and promoting sustainable agriculture.
Critical Aspects of Zero Hunger
1 Sustainable Food Systems. 
Justifiable food systems bring food security and nutrition for all by ensuring that social, economic, and environmental factors promote nutrition and food security and ensure that they are not compromised (Von Grebmer et al., 2016). The adverse effects of climate and environmental change require sustainable agricultural mechanisms, which include agricultural diversification.
2 An End to Rural Poverty
Increasing small-scale producers' income is necessary to succeed in ending poverty among rural folk. That is because they hold crucial and determined measures to feed the fast-growing global population (Banerjee et al., 2019). Those efforts aim to improve population well-being through sustainable livelihoods and increase small scale producers' productivity, income, and promote rural employment.
3 Adapting Food Systems to Eliminate Loss or Food Wastage
 Food systems will minimize potential food losses during production, storage, and transport (Von Grebmer et al., 2016). It also empowers consumer choices and commitments by producers, consumers, and retailers in all countries.
4 Access Adequate Food and Nutritious Diets for all People
This goal addresses building people’s resilience to overcome extreme hunger through access to healthy, nutritious, and diverse diets(Banerjee et al., 2019). 
5 An End to Malnutrition.
Malnutrition is a significant form of poverty. It can lead to stunting, hidden hunger, and wasting, which results in irreparable damage to both individuals and society. Promoting universal access to nutritious food for all people throughout the year is necessary for tackling these challenges (Blesh et al., 2019). It is also essential to set up multi-sectoral mechanisms such as nutrition-oriented health care, sanitation, water, agriculture, and social protection.
