My name is Joe Joseph, a 26-year-old Hispanic male. For as long as I can recall, I have always wanted to be financially literate. I have always wanted to study, practice, and implement financial skills in my life. To reach my goals, I realized that I have to be consistent in my studies and have a healthy transition from a college other to higher expertise. With the opportunity your scholarship will provide, I can achieve my career goal- becoming a CPA holder and working in a top finance firm. I need assistance to attend to my career advancement options. I am from a low-income household. This scholarship would help me spend more time on my courses and work less. The financial burden may lessen my time in school, and I would greatly appreciate a helping hand that will help me successfully achieve my dream of being a CPA.
The choice to be in finance was not random. My childhood was structured well enough in that a system of rules governed my life. I drew my inspiration from my mother, a single parent who toiled so hard to raise me. I saw her manage her meager wages to sustain us. She always told me that life is a struggle, and one can make the struggle easier by excelling in school. She asserted that education is important because it is necessary. Her words encouraged me, and I was the first of my generation to join college. Her belief in may made me recognize that I would excel in a challenging environment of like-minded students. When I graduated from high school, I was told I am only but halfway through my education. Therefore, it was my responsibility to transform my life with no exaggeration.
I am a Business Accounting major. I completed my degree in business accounting at El Paso community college with a 3.9 GPA. My college experience has helped me acknowledge the benefits of a collaborative rather than a competitive environment. My peers and I have had a collective learning experience, and we all have a unique, inspiring motivation and level of passion in our respective careers and lives. College made sense in my life.
