Everyone is being entitled to human rights. These rights make us do everything we want to do. Compromising any of these rights is like removing our right to live. One of the rights we have is the right to personal privacy. Personal privacy is being defined as the right of an individual or any group of people to seclude any information about them to express themselves in the way they want to. Anything that shows an act of invading this particular right is unlawful.
It is undeniable that the technology we have to date really has an innovative systems and functionalities. These innovations make our living easier. Along with this, as the technology continues to prosper, the crime rate in all possible means also increases. Truth is, there are people who take advantage of every benefit that technology gives. In reality, the apparatuses they have are even innovated making them use their smart gadgets to do crimes. Currently, the debate on the use of surveillance camera in violating the right to personal privacy never ceases. Many still believe that the use of this specific gadget is a basic form of invading one person’s right to privacy. Technically, surveillance cameras are being designed to serve as smart eyes to see and to record every incident that happens to places, persons, and instances. The use of this technology-innovated device is not meant to invade one person’s personal privacy, instead, it gives security.
