Values and Priorities for High School and College Levels
Introduction
Qualifying and joining college has often been an exciting and important stage in the life of any student. It provides a unique chance for the student to continue in his or her pursuit of career and professional achievement. The American system of education is divided into some structures. The American students enroll in school at the age of six. The first structure that they join is the elementary level which is also known as primary school. In the elementary school, they study for about five to six years depending on the capabilities of the pupil. After leaving the main level, they join the secondary level (Booker and Michael 350). The high school level is divided into two programs; the first section is the junior high school while the second section is the high school. After graduating from secondary school pupils who study in America are given the opportunity to go to college depending on the grades that they scored. There are various ways in which college and high school systems compare, especially when it comes to values and priorities.

The College Board was first established in the year 1900 with the intent to connect students to college success and opportunities (Harry and Beth 483). In other words it was an organization aimed at ensuring that all those who attended college got a chance to be employed. This is in contrast to the priorities and values held in high school, which was mainly to qualify for college education through great academic results.
The other difference in values and priorities between them is the versatility in options. This simply means that the focus of the management personnel in these two levels of education is different. For college, it is more than just obtaining a degree (Farber and Barry 320). A college student will be given discounts for both national and online deals for instance a college student will get discounts.
