SOCIAL CONTROL
Social control means the pressure exerted to an individual by the people around, in the institutions, religion backgrounds, families, friends, rule of law and the general society at large to change the behavior in order to fit in that particular society. However, there are two ways of applying social control to any individual or a group, there is formal means of control and informal means of control. Formal means of control is where the individual behaviors are controlled by the law which is put in place by the government to be followed by its citizens without breaking them and if broken the government takes the action. Informal means of control is where the individual or a group are governed by the culture belief, religion and other means that is not put in place by the government . Generally cultural beliefs have the great effect on individuals than the law and they are mostly followed by many.
Despite of the term social control being taken on a light note, its impacts in the lives of people is magnificent. Personally I have been a victim of the circumstance and its impact in my life was eminent and severe.
