Sexual Education
Sex education refers to the study of human sexual reproduction, intercourse, and anatomy. In particular, it is included in the curricula of numerous schools since young people need to acquire relevant knowledge about their sexuality. Although it is controversial to determine the right age in which children should be educated about sex, the most significant thing is to ensure that these young individuals understand its consequences. For instance, without sexual education, the number of teenage mothers might increase since many adolescents are curious to engage in sex without considering its implications. As such, sex education helps to reduce early pregnancies, which makes many young girls discontinue their education. When teenagers are educated about sex, they become aware of their sexual behaviors, ethics, and embrace safe sex practices. For this reason, sex education is needed for adolescents and it is important since it enables young people to know the consequences of different sexual behaviors.

However, sexual education enables children to understand the reason why they should avoid sex and that it should be practiced by responsible adults. That way, even if they come across sexual content on the Internet, they will not be tempted to engage in sexual intercourse.
Comprehensive sex education covers various things that enable people to gain relevant skills, which help them to manage their sexual health and navigate their relationships. Indeed, it can take place at school, online, or in a community setting. Despite many schools involving sex education in their curricula, parents should know that it is their duty to educate their children about good sexual behavior. In other words, they should not over-rely on teachers to teach teenagers sexual education. For example, mothers should be close to their daughters during adolescence and let them know that the physical changes they are experiencing are normal and that they should not be afraid that anything is wrong with them. When it comes to boys, fathers should be there for them. In general, both parents should be involved in their children’s lives regardless of their gender. The failure to do that might make teenager...
