How Racial Diversity Affects The Decision Making Of The Students

Name: Course: Professor: Date: Personal Reflection Living in a country where racial discrimination was rampant, I experienced and witnessed how racial discrimination affects the lives of many people. The social classes remain as they were during the previous centuries. I recall my first day in a school where I was the only Chinese among Americans, I was mocked and even called funny names, l felt out of place. The school administration did not take any action, even after my parents complained. By participating in crossing the Line activity, I was able to understand how racial diversity and campus climate affects the general decision making of the students. I knew that the dynamics of the choices that we were about to make will illuminate on how the society we live in affects our general decision-making skills. For me, the activity was a game changer. There were lots of lessons from this activity. Having to make decisions that were a little intriguing, but compelling, having to choose what I really wished for, was an eye-opener for me to be aware of the power that we have as human beings on our fate. I also learned to appreciate and respect our diverse culture; this enlightened me on the importance of respecting people's choices. I was proud to take a stand as a Democrat, in expressing my political view and openly I felt that we are living in a truly democratic nation where I could declare my political stand without being discriminated for it. I was proud to stood firm on what I believed in and am happy to have expressed how I felt about racial discrimination.
