Introduction
In life there are instances when people can actually do some things that are unfathomable. Despite the ordeal that these people might commit there some valuable things that they can provide to the community or society. For example, an individual may commit a heinous crime like mass murder; but this individual has something valuable inside. Therefore, from that background when Anne Frank argued that “In spite of everything she still believed that people are really good at heart” (Frank, 2).
Discussion of the Statement
It is worth noting that Anne Frank said these words during the attacks from the Nazi soldiers who had attacked their family. She wrote these words her cherished diary that she kept throughout the days when her and other Jewish were under attack. These words were spoken during the Second World War. It is further important to note the diary was discovered by one called Miep Gies. Gies later retuned the diary to Anne’s father called Otto, after the war was ended. During this period, the Jewish people were facing persecution from the German soldiers under the leadership of Adolf Hitler (Cordle,166).
Anne Frank was feeling bad about the things that were taking place in her surrounding to an extent she lost hope in everything. During the war, there was mass destruction of property, loss of lives, rape, and other heinous crimes. Due to these destructions of property and loss of lives where even women and children were not spared; she lamented that the world was gradually becoming wilderness. As a matter of facts, she could foresee nothing other than miseries and hopelessness. There were millions of people suffering throughout the world that made her to sympathize with. She equally feared that even she and the rest of her family members were equally vulnerable to the attacks that were quickly approaching from every angle.
The people who suffered the most during this skirmishes were women and children who were vulnerable. Many people had lost hope on life and they were expecting the worst anytime. But despite all these bad things that were happening; Anne was quite optimistic that these people still had something good in their hearts and they were only responding to the things that were ha...
