As Clapp (99) notes, there is a high polarization of the agricultural trade liberalization in the world. There are widespread arguments that the Uruguay Round Agreement of Agriculture favored the interests of rich nations while undermining those of developing nations. While these challenges are apparent, there are diverse interpretations on the best approaches that can be adapted to address the inequalities in the agricultural sector.
