Name Instructor Course Date Experience of Native Americans with Settlers The history of Native Americans dates back to tens of thousands years back. The events that took place during that time had an impact in the history of United States. Many groups of the Native Americans lived along the Costs of United states. They spoke different languages and some of them were hunters while some farmers. Some of the groups lived fighting with each other while others lived peacefully. They had their cultures which they had developed long before the arrival of the settlers. Each group had its own religion while some shared a similar one. Those that lived along the Cost had a certain system of trade that they used to trade goods across the country. Spanish in the Caribbean It is said that the first settlers started to arrive in the Caribbean in 1500s. These were fishermen from Spain and France who crossed the Atlantic Ocean in search for whales. They made temporary camps along the Caribbean Cost and often traded with the Natives. The settlers often paid the Natives to work for them and they found the relationship to be successful. They permitted the land that has been used to become wild again. Knowing the value of land, the first settlers wanted land and the Natives did not fear them since there was enough land. They welcomed the Spanish settlers and thought them how to survive on the land little did they know that the settlers were not going to let the land go off their hands. This was new to them. As years passed by, more settlers continued to arrive and took more land cutting down trees and building fences to keep the Natives and animals out. They told the Natives to stay away from their land (Pendergast). Another problem was about the religion between the settlers and the Native Americans. The Spanish were serious about their Christian religion and believed that it was the only one that all people should believe in. They later learned that the Native Americans had their own beliefs and they were not ready to change them. They started fearing them perceiving them to be evils since they had no religion. The Natives did not understand why they had to change their beliefs (Rollings). Disease was another problem that ...
