Ethnomethodological Experiment (EE) Research Assignment

Ethnomethodological experiments, also known as breaching experiments, are simple yet creative techniques that explore people's compliance with social norms and enable them to observe the strength of social norms and social conformity.
In this assignment, you will identify a social norm that is related to sex, sexuality, or gender, and observe the societal reaction when you violate this norm.
Submit a brief description of you experiment (no longer than 250-300 words, double-spaced, have one-inch margins, and typed in 12-point font). Your experiment's design and plan should include the following:
1. Identify a social norm that is related to gender, sex, or sexuality that you believe exists in society.
2. Provide information on how you plan to breach/violate the norm – without engaging in unethical or criminal behavior! Include the location, date and time you plan to execute the experiment.
Note for those doing the Nail Polish Experiment: No need to explain the details of your experiment since it is given. However, please provide information on the person assisting you with the assignment (background and demographics), date and time of the experiment, and provide some details about the places both of you plan to be during the time of experiment.
3. Hypothesize what reactions are expected when this norm will be violated.
