A blended family can be successful when the parents and the children are able to identify the blind spots and tackle the challenges that may bring disharmony on family unity. A blended family can be defined as a family where one or both parents have children from their previous marriages. Blended families are common in the current contemporary environment due to increased remarriages. From a personal perspective, although blended families are exposed to certain challenges, the new union can function effectively when members of the family learn efficient ways of dealing with difficulties. A good example is where a parent becomes frustrated when the new union fails to function effectively like the previous one, especially when children gang up together to resist or oppose other siblings.
