Support on Euthanasia in Texas
Euthanasia is an intentional act of killing or permitting the death of somebody who is terminally ill or who wishes to intentionally end their life. The euthanasia in Texas is guided by some legislative laws and regulations to make the act as human as possible, so that the religious beliefs and practices are taken into consideration. In contrary to the doctor-assisted suicide practiced in the states of Oregon and Washington, the doctor in consultations with the family or upon the wishes of the patient can assist in ending the pain, agony and suffering of the patient through some agreed principles (Somerville 50). However, in assisted-suicide, the terminally ill person or patient is provided with different possibilities to end their lives, preferably professional medical alternatives as opposed to the gruesome non-professional alternatives.

However, the doctors have to allow the natural process of dying to take its course. It can be done through the removal of life support in the event where there is no significant medical improvement of the vegetative state of the patient. The removal of life support has to be agreed upon by the patient in case he or she has the ability. In Texas, the removal of life support can only be done through the consent of the patient. In the event that the patient had previously executed long lasting power of attorney, a member o...
