Non-Action
Sometimes it is important to be busy doing nothing. This is relevant especially when searching for a solution for a phenomenon or a problem. However, people might not understand the events behind idling while the brain undergoes the process of non-action. This is because this kind of behaviors in most cases is focused on voluntary actions based on the motor and cognitive levels. Thus, the notion of action and non-action are usually used for decision making in either implicit or explicit ways. For example, an action centered processes involve decision making whereby the subsystems in the brain stores as well as use knowledge, especially in the memory for making decisions. On the other hand, non-action is also a process of taking action. However, this process is centered in the non-action subsystem which store and uses declarative knowledge, especially the declarative memory in both the semantic and episodic aspects of psychology. Therefore, non-action is usually responsible for reasoning that helps with the problem-solving process through meditation whereby the declarative memory is engaged in both semantic and episodic processes which result in intuition reasoning.
The concept of non-action is a form of action which gives an outcome as long as the desire to make a difference has been developed. In order to effectively achieve non-action, a person has to restrict movement which is indeed taking action to non-action. For example, assisting a person may help them develop while such a person can also develop if he or she is not helping to develop. In such circumstances, a person is able to select natural actions as noted in the Taoist lifestyle. These processes involve both the active and passive elements through meditation. Therefore, the technique helps in responding to different problems or situations (Sun, 2016). In most of the Eastern texts such as “Bhagavad-Gita” that entails the Indian culture and the Taoism culture embrace the use of non-action. In these two separate cultural aspects elaborate that people might see action in the non-action and the non-action in action for the accomplishment of needs as well as problem-solving processes. These two entities indicate that a person who is able to solve his problems through the non-action lens is the awakened one since his actions are out of his own free will, desire and intention. This person is normally calm and not interested in action and is usually contented without a hold. However, he is usually busy doing nothing while very busy in the mind (Sun, 2016).
In most cases, people get involved in activities which impact stressfully on their lives due to unresolved feelings. Therefore, non-action plays an integral role in the recovery and discovery, especially af...
