Essay #1: Psychology in My Life (500-800 words)The PSY 150 essay will require you to use your critical thinking skills and your writing ability to address a question of primary importance:How will you use psychology in your career and in your life?In order to be able to successfully answer this question, you must be able to analyze and synthesize psychological concepts and be able to apply them to your speculations concerning your career and your future life.In your essay, you will need to clearly identify your career and why you have chosen it and then explain how what you have learned in psychology will enhance your career and your life.
Your paper will make use of two sources:
1.The first source is yourtextbookitself. You will selectFOUR PSYCHOLOGYconcepts/topics from at least TWOdifferent chapters tofocus on in your paper.
2.The second source is an article from a refereed (peer-reviewed) journal(preferably an American Psychological Association journal published within the last five years) which addresses one of the psychological concepts or topics relevant to your intended career. You will want to find an article which is research (data-driven) basedand which uses the experimental or correlational method. The article must have the traditional sections associated with a research study(abstract, introduction (literature review), methods, results, discussion, and references). That means no reviews of literature or other types of articles. If you are not sure, check with your instructor.
In discussing information from your text, you must reference the appropriate chapters, identify and define each relevant concept, and explain why the psychological concepts you focus on are or will be relevant to your career and your future life. You will be expected to use specific examples of how the concepts will be relevant to your career. Merely saying a concept is important is not sufficient. You must be specific about how it will benefit you in your career.
For the journal article, you will be integrating the article and its content into your paper to highlight its significance to your chosen field of study rather than merely citing it.You will be using the journal article to discuss its relationship to one of the concepts or topics you have selected as important to your career.Note that you will be discussing the article and the implication of its findings for your career in some detail, not merely mentioning it in passing

Psychology in Life
Air maintenance management involves managing the repair, service, and overall maintenance of the aircraft and aircraft engines. Such procedures are crucial and require high levels of safety. Since aviation safety relies heavily on the maintenance, mistakes in my line of work can contribute to huge proportions of aviation accidents. In most cases, errors in maintenance involve missing parts or incorrect installation of parts, and failure to conduct necessary checks. Unlike other errors in aviation, mistakes done by aviation maintenance teams are harder to detect and yield devastating results. Coping with such problems will require me to deal with a set of unintentional human errors referred to as a human factor. These include conditions such as fatigue, stress, and complacency which are common to individuals in my career, since it contributes to more than 80 percent of aviation maintenance errors. Since these conditions are associated with mental health, applying certain psychological concepts can help me cope with the factors and eventually avoid errors in aviation maintenance.
The first psychological concept useful in my career is the circadian cycles. Morris and Maisto (41) explain that over the day, a person’s metabolism, stomach acidity, blood pressure, levels of hormones, alertness and body temperature vary predictably. Although the patterns vary among individuals, every individual experiences shifts in these patterns. An important aspect of the concept of circadian cycles is circadian rhythms. Humans are more alert at the peak of the late morning hours because of the high levels of epinephrine. Understanding this biological clock is important in my career since it will enable me to synchronize my body’s reaction during different times of the day, with my tasks. The synchronization is important for two reasons. First, it will be useful in helping me avoid health problems associated with altered hormonal function and impaired cognitive function which is crucial in my line of work. As earlier stated, one of the key causes of aircraft accidents is caused by errors in maintenance. Mistakes such as missing parts and failure to effectively conduct system checks can be associated with cognitive performance and neuropsychological processes including attention. Failure to be attentive when managing the maintenance team reduces the chances of detecting even the slightest mistake done by the team, and this could be devastating. Secondly, understanding the circadian rhythms will help in arraign my tasks throughout the day. Since my body and brain are most active in the morning, due to the high epinephrine produced, I will schedule crucial tasks in the morning. These tasks can include system checks and maintenance of aircrafts that are scheduled to fly in the day. Doing so will help red...
